A direct deposit is a convenient way to receive your Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) payments and benefits.
You might have heard the Government of Canada is launching various benefits, credits and support payments. Please visit the CRA website Opens in a new window. for full details. Make sure to register for CRA direct deposit so that you can get the money you need faster.
Fill out the form by providing your name, date of birth (DOB), Social Security Number (SIN) and select your Simplii Financial No Fee Chequing Account from the drop-down. Make sure this information is correct.
Enrolling in and unenrolling from CRA direct deposit
A direct deposit is a convenient way to get your CRA payments and benefits. Funds will be deposited directly into your account.
To set up direct deposit payments with the CRA, you have to complete the registration form on Simplii Financial™ Online Banking or our mobile banking app. To access the form on online banking, select “More Services” from the left navigation menu. Then, select “Direct Deposit with CRA.” To access the form on mobile banking, open the navigation menu and select “Direct deposit with CRA.”
If your request is processed, you’ll start getting direct deposit payments with the CRA. If you’re registered with the CRA’s My Account service, you can also check for confirmation on your profile. If your request isn’t processed, the CRA will send you a letter. We submit your information to the CRA on your behalf, but Simplii can’t access your records at the CRA. If the information you entered on the registration form matches what the CRA has on file, it should take 1 to 2 business days.
The CRA already has the information you originally submitted for direct deposit. Any new information submitted will replace what you submitted earlier.
To change your information, sign on to Simplii Financial™ Online Banking or our mobile banking app and submit another form. The latest information will replace what you submitted earlier.
If you close your account, you'll have to deregister from direct deposits with the CRA or set up another account. Once you set up a new account, the latest information will replace the information you entered before.
Enrolling accounts from other financial institutions
You can only set up one account for direct deposit at a time. If you set up a second account, the latest information will replace the information you entered before.
To set up an account at another financial institution, contact that financial institution.
