We use technologies, such as cookies, pixels, beacons and web analytics tools (collectively referred to as “technologies”) to collect information when you’re on Simplii websites, or Simplii Online Banking or the Mobile Banking App (collectively referred to as “sites and apps”). These technologies are small files or tools placed on your device or browser, and are used to track online activity.

In some cases, third parties may use these technologies to collect information about how you interact with our sites and apps, as well as with ads shown to you on other platforms. This helps us and our partners understand the effectiveness of our advertising and improve the relevance of the ads you see.

These technologies collect information about:

  • How you use our sites and apps, such as pages visited and actions taken on each page, like whether you have started or completed an application with us
  • If and how you interact with our ads
  • Your device, IP address, browser and operating system
  • Your location, interests and preferences

This information, and in some cases other information we have about you and how you use our products and services, is used by Simplii and shared with our third party partners, including advertising partners, to:

  • Understand how you use our sites and apps
  • Operate, improve and protect our sites and apps
  • Authenticate users and prevent fraud or unauthorized activity
  • Measure and report on advertising effectiveness
  • Support real-time analytics and service improvements
  • Promote our products and services

Our advertising partners may also combine or match the information we provide with the information they have about you and may also use the information they collect in accordance with their own privacy policies.

We use the information collected from our technologies for different purposes depending on which category the information or technology falls into. Unless the technologies are Strictly Necessary, you can decide whether to provide this information by managing your preferences with Simplii.

To maximize your choices and ensure anyone using Simplii sites or apps has these choices, we ensure you can manage your preferences regardless of whether you’re logged in.

Your choices with one set of preferences will not affect the other.

Additionally, the browser you use allows you to review technologies and control how they are used. You can configure your browser to accept or delete technologies, either for specific ones or for all technologies. You can also set your browser to ensure it refuses all technologies or have it request your consent every time a technology is sent to your device. However, these settings could have an impact on your user experience with our online services.

What other options do I have?

If you delete your browser technologies, you’ll need to opt out again.

Please note that blocking tracking technologies or opting out of ad customization will not eliminate all Simplii advertising in digital channels. Instead, Simplii advertising will not be customized for you using your tracking technologies data and may be less relevant.

Simplii does not manage, and is not responsible for, the digital marketing and tracking technologies practices of third-parties, for example, third-party websites linked to or from Simplii's websites or mobile apps.

How long does Simplii keep my digital preferences?

Your digital consent preferences on domains other than Simplii Online Banking and Simplii Mobile Banking App are stored for 12 months after you provide or update your consent choices on our website. After the digital consent preferences expire, you’ll be prompted to renew or update your consent choices. Digital consent preferences on the Simplii Online Banking and Simplii Mobile Banking App do not have an expiration date.

If you visit our website from a Safari browser, you’ll be presented with our consent banner more frequently. This is a result of certain browsers automatically erasing tracking technologies on regular time intervals. Consult your browser’s user guide to learn more.

You may be prompted with our consent banner again if your digital preferences get reset. This may happen if:

  • A website is visited through a new device or browser
  • Tracking technologies data are deleted or the cache is cleared on the browser
  • The website is visited in private browsing or from a new browser profile
  • There are substantial changes to our Digital Data Collection Policy, websites or technologies supporting them

Additional consent-management tips

Your digital preferences are an important tool in protecting your privacy. While you can manage your preferences on our Digital Data Collection Policy page, there are additional steps you can take to support proper management of your personal information.

  • Following the selection of new or revised digital preferences, close all additional Simplii domain tabs or your browser. This will ensure your digital preferences are properly applied across relevant Simplii tabs and pages.
  • In some cases, the browser will automatically expire client-side digital preferences, or they may be manually removed by you in your browser settings. In either situation, you must re-enter your digital preferences to re-enable your preferences across the domain.
  • You may wish to take additional steps to protect your privacy as it relates to advertisements. Most browsers provide guidelines on tracking technologies management, which can be found in the support section of your browser.

We may modify or amend this Digital Data Collection Policy from time to time at our discretion. When we make changes to the Digital Data Collection Policy, we will update the revision date at the top of this page, and such modified or amended Digital Data Collection Policy will be effective as of that revision date. If the changes we make are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice and obtain consent when required by applicable laws.

We encourage you to periodically review this Digital Data Collection Policy to be informed about how we are using tracking technologies.
